In response to Speaker Pelosi and House Democrats’ HEROES Act relief package, Ana Maria Archila, Co-Executive Director of the Center for Popular Democracy, issued the following statement: 

Speaker Pelosi’s HEROES Act is a step in the right direction to begin to heal the economic devastation of COVID-19 caused by Trump’s incompetent handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, but the the crisis demands an even more ambitious response to put money in people’s hands, provide economic relief to families, and address the public health crisis.

“Our network is backing true champions down the ballot who are willing to roll up their sleeves and center the voices of those at the margins.”

“While they claim they want to protect the economy, they are choosing to leave behind those on the frontlines keeping it afloat.” 

NEW YORK CITY -- On Wednesday night, the Trump administration issued a proclamation that bans people from entering the United States on immigrant visas for 60 days, with some exceptions. 

In response to the proclamation, the co-executive director of the Center for Popular Democracy, Ana Maria Archila, released the following statement.

LOS ANGELES -- On the largest voting day in the 2020 primary cycle, Bernie Sanders won the biggest, state with the most delegates -- California, and came close in Texas, the second-most delegate rich state. He won 55 percent of Latino voters in California and 45 percent in Texas. Sanders proved himself to be the candidate of the future, winning young voters across the country. 

Moving forward in the race, it is a two-way contest between Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden.
