Grassroots Group for Sanders Reacts to March 10 Primary Results

"Bernie Sanders has proven that his voice and his movement are vital to any success in November."

DETROIT, MI -- In response to results from the March 10 primaries, CPD Action, a national network of grassroots community organizations who endorsed Senator Bernie Sanders in December, released the following statement from Political Director Natalia Salgado:

“We are disappointed with the results of the election tonight, but we're in this work for the long haul. Tonight’s results highlight the work that still has to be done. And that is work that Black, Brown, and working-class communities across this country are ready to do.

“Bernie Sanders has proven that his voice and his movement are vital to any success in November.

“The kind of change that we're working toward takes time. We want to build a political and economic system that works for working class Black and Brown people when it never has. This change doesn't happen with one candidate and it doesn't happen in one election cycle.

"Bernie Sanders has shifted the paradigm for progressives running for office. His campaign has been a testament to the growing force of political candidates that are committed to closing the gap between the haves and the have nots.

“We are committed to the Bernie Sanders campaign and the values that it represents. We will continue to push this agenda forward in the primaries, the general and beyond. Our North Star is to defeat Donald Trump and we are prepared to do what it takes.”
