CPD Action Endorses Noreen Kelly for New Mexico State Senate

“We’re proud to join OLÉ and Working Families Party New Mexico in support of a phenomenal woman, and can’t wait to see her enact change for her district.”

WASHINGTON, DC -- Center for Popular Democracy Action (CPD Action) a national network of more than 50 community organizing groups across the country, announced the endorsement of Noreen Kelly as a representative for the fourth district of New Mexico’s State Senate. She has been a pillar in her district by leading the nonprofit Diné Council of Elders for Peace that educates her indigenous community on elder practices and teachings.

Jennifer Epps-Addison, President and co-executive director of CPD Action released the following statement:

“We are excited to announce this state-level endorsement for New Mexico. New Mexico deserves to have elected officials that reflect and elevate the many voices of New Mexico’s diverse communities. The path to winning in November extends beyond the presidential election, it is in making sure that marginalized voices are present in the development of the political systems that have been structured to work against us. We’re proud to join OLÉ and Working Families Party New Mexico in support of a phenomenal woman, and can’t wait to see her enact change for her district.”

The network has made several other down-ballot endorsements in Texas, West Virginia, Georgia, and Illinois. Last year, CPD Action made its first presidential endorsement for Bernie Sanders.
